Project Description - Fabric Formula is a visual guide for choosing quilt fabrics with confidence. It’s not color theory, and it’s not about making the “right” choices. It’s a practical system for assigning roles, checking balance, and understanding why your choices work, so you can stop overthinking and start cutting.

• Unpack why fabric choices feel overwhelming and emotional

• Name the feeling you want your quilt to have (color and pattern)

• Assign roles using the Hero / Support / Anchor system

• Choose fabrics with structure

• Run visual checks before you cut

It’s about understanding your choices to stop overthinking and start cutting.

Your Role - I’m looking for sewists who:

• Feel unsure or stuck at the fabric-choosing stage, or

• Are about to start a new quilt and want a clearer way to choose fabrics.

As a tester, you’ll read through the guide, try the system on a real quilt (stash or new fabrics) by choosing a palette, and share feedback on clarity, flow, and usability of the guide. Pull quotes may be used at launch with permission.

Timing - Testers will receive the guide by Tuesday, January 13, with feedback due by Monday, January 19.

Compensation - This is an unpaid opportunity, but testers will receive the final guide for free, as well as a gift card to use on other Evann Creates patterns now or in the future.
